Obituary for Margaret Rainey Margaret Rainey, 80, of Holly, Michigan passed away with her family by her side on January 17, 2017 from complications of open heart surgery. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ronald R. Rainey. A memorial service will be held at the Holly Presbyterian Church on January 28 at 11:00 am with fellowship and lunch following the service. Margaret was born on May 10, 1936 to John and Elizabeth Adams of Holly. She devoted her spare time to quilting, sewing, reading, Mahjong, and movies. Margaret also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and traveling. Margaret was a librarian at the Holly Township Library for over thirty years and a member of the Holly Presbyterian Church. At the library, she was well known for being helpful and often researched Holly history and worked for decades with children during story hour. Margaret is survived by her son Frank (Laura), daughters Elizabeth Thoreson (Donald), and Rhonda Bowling (Bill); seven beloved grandchildren, Katie, Amanda, and Genny Rainey; Erik and Alex Thoreson; Cecelia Borema and Mae Whiteside; as well as eight great-grandchildren she adored. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, or the Holly Presbyterian Church. |
