HPC Hikers 2009 Calendar

| April 10 (Friday): Full Moon Walk We'll meet at 8 p.m. on some local trail, which is still being determined. Right now, we are leaning towards meeting at Randy & Christine's house and walking to a local park where they have a nice trail. |
April 26 (Sunday): Disc Golf We'll meet at the Holly Recreation Area course at 2 p.m. |

| May 3 (Sunday): Day Hike From Church We'll leave church at 1:30 p.m., walk to Sorenson Park (on East Holly Road), walk around the trail in the park, and then back to church. |
May 17 (Sunday): Day Hike We'll probably go to Seven Lakes State Park. Meet at church at 1:30 p.m. or at the park at 2 p.m. |

| June 7 (Sunday): Day Hike From Church Again, we'll leave church at 1:30 p.m. This time we'll walk a planned route around and through Holly, probably going through and taking time to look around the cemetery by the lake. |
June 17-20 (Wednesday Night To Saturday) Canoeing The Pine River. This is the first of our two big trips. We'll leave Wednesday night and camp out at a bend in the river (1/4 mile walk from the car). On Thursday, we'll drive to the start point and start upstream. We canoe down to our campsite and stop for the day. The next morning we'll continue our canoe trip, pulling out downstream at the stop point and then drive back to the campsite. We'll stay one more night and then leave on Saturday, possibly stopping along the way home somewhere for some disc golf. NOTE: For this trip, we'll need to know ahead of time (fairly soon) how many canoes to rent. If you bring your own canoe, you'll still need a river permit for it. And an advance deposit will be needed. Details will be forthcoming. Jim Lyles will investigate and report back with details. |

| July 19 (Sunday) Day Hike We'll leave right after worship service. We'll drive to some local trail, possibly in Holly Recreation Area, and hike there. |
August 6-9 (Thursday Night To Sunday) CAMPING/HIKING IN THE NORTHERN LOWER PENINSULA. This is the second of our two big trips. The exact location is yet to be determined. Hartwick Pines; along the Au Sable River; on the point of land west of the Mackinaw Bridge; and other locations are being considered. Dessalee Cook will investigate and get back with details. |

September 13 (Sunday) Disc Golf We'll meet at the Holly Recreation Area course shortly after worship service ends. |
