"Worship In The Park"
Celebrating The Holly Presbyterian Church’s 158th Birthday
Sunday, July 9, 2017

The Holly Presbyterian Church’s congregation gathered to celebrate our 158th birthday (1859 - 2017) at Lakeside Park in Holly on Sunday, July 9th, with its annual “Worship in the Park” service and picnic.  The weather was “severe clear,” with blue skies and temperatures in the upper-70’s/low-80’s at the time of the service.

Rev. Dr. Sharlyn DeHaven Gates conducted the worship service, assisted by Associate Pastor Shaun Hardimon. Vicki and Jim Lyles led the singing. Rev. Gates’ sermon was entitled How Did It All Happen?” and was based on a Scripture lesson from Genesis 2.

After the service, everyone enjoyed a potluck picnic with hot dogs, water and punch provided by the Fellowship Team and the usual wealth of dishes brought by members of the congregation. Everyone had a wonderful time of fellowship.
